A new adaptation of “Robin Hood” is in the works, and it’s set to feature none other than Hollywood heavyweight Hugh Jackman alongside Jodie Comer in leading roles.
The legendary tale of the cunning thief Robin Hood is set to hit the silver screen once again, this time with Hugh Jackman taking on the mantle. Titled “The Death of Robin Hood,” this new film promises to breathe fresh life into the familiar adventure with a unique perspective.

Joining the cast alongside Hugh Jackman is Jodie Comer, known for her role in “Killing Eve.” Steering the ship from the director’s chair is Michael Sarnoski, the mastermind behind “Pig” and “A Quiet Place: Day One.” The official synopsis of the film reads:
“Robin Hood, a man haunted by a life of crime and violence, finds himself at the mercy of a mysterious woman when he is gravely wounded. She offers him a chance at redemption, forcing Robin to confront his past and seize his opportunity for salvation.”
As evident, this rendition of the classic Robin Hood tale deviates significantly from its predecessors. Unlike the merry bandit portrayed by Errol Flynn, Jackman’s portrayal promises a mature and weary character, adding depth to the narrative.
Drawing closer to the tone of “Robin and Marian,” the 1976 film starring Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn, this new adaptation is poised to explore themes of redemption and reconciliation with one’s past.
Filming and Production
Filming for the Hugh Jackman-led “The Death of Robin Hood” is slated to commence in 2025. Hugh Jackman, who recently teased a return to the role of Logan in the Deadpool & Wolverine universe, is set to captivate audiences once more. His repertoire, including acclaimed works like “The Greatest Showman” and the award-winning musical “Les Misérables,” only adds to the anticipation surrounding this project.

Global distribution rights for the film will be up for grabs at the Cannes Festival through WME Independent.
