Renowned for her roles in Yellowstone spin-offs, actress Isabel May has officially joined the cast of Scream 7. Fans can expect her to play a key character as one of Ghostface’s new targets in the upcoming installment of the iconic horror franchise.
The Scream series, created by the legendary Wes Craven, debuted in 1996 and became a cornerstone of modern horror, revitalizing the genre in the 1990s. After Craven’s passing, the franchise was rebooted with successful sequels in 2022 and 2023. However, the seventh film has faced significant hurdles, including the departures of Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, and director Christopher Landon.
Thankfully, the project gained momentum again when original Scream writer Kevin Williamson stepped into the director’s chair, marking his return to the series in March.
Isabel May to Play Sidney Prescott’s Daughter
Isabel May, known for her performances in Yellowstone prequels 1883 and 1923, as well as her role in Young Sheldon, will portray the daughter of Sidney Prescott, the franchise’s iconic protagonist. At just 24, May’s talent and versatility make her a perfect fit for this pivotal role, which will showcase a compelling mother-daughter dynamic.
Neve Campbell, beloved by fans as Sidney Prescott, is set to return after skipping the previous installment due to a salary dispute. This time, the narrative will focus on the bond between Sidney and her daughter, promising an emotional core to complement the film’s thrilling horror elements.
In addition, Courteney Cox will reprise her role as Gale Weathers, further cementing the nostalgic yet fresh vibe of the upcoming sequel.
Behind the Scenes of Scream 7
Kevin Williamson, who penned the scripts for Scream, Scream 2, and Scream 4, will direct the new film, bringing his deep understanding of the series to the forefront. The script is in the hands of Guy Busick, who co-wrote the last two installments.
The previous films were directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, collectively known as Radio Silence. Their contributions led to box-office successes, with the fifth film grossing $137 million and the sixth reaching $166 million globally.
