Renowned Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe is gearing up to grace the silver screen once again, this time in Derrick Borte’s upcoming action thriller, “Bear Country.”

“Bear Country” marks the second project where Crowe and Borte join forces, with Borte adapting the screenplay alongside Daniel Forte, drawing inspiration from Thomas Perry’s novel “Strip.” Supported by production companies such as Nickel City Pictures, A Higher Standard, Life & Soul Pictures, Latigo Films, and Gramercy Park Media, filming for the project is scheduled to commence in October 2024 in the picturesque setting of Australia’s Gold Coast region.
In this thrilling narrative, Crowe will portray an aging nightclub owner who seeks to sell his establishment and transition into a more tranquil life with his partner. However, a sudden robbery sets off a chain of events that thrusts him into a perilous confrontation with cartel bosses and a persistent newcomer determined to acquire the club. As the character Manco Kapak, Crowe’s portrayal promises a gripping portrayal of resilience in the face of adversity.
Beyond “Bear Country,” Russell Crowe is poised to captivate audiences with his diverse range of upcoming projects, including “Sleeping Dogs” and “Land of Bad,” both of which fall within the action-thriller genre.
