A Potential Return to “Peaky Blinders”

While Murphy has become synonymous with the role of Thomas Shelby in “Peaky Blinders,” he clarified that it was not an obvious choice physically. Believing that an actor should transform for a role, Murphy recalled reminding the show’s creator, Stephen Knight, of his versatility after their initial meeting. The 47-year-old actor is open to reprising the role if the right script and opportunity present themselves.

“If there are more stories to be told, and if Stephen Knight presents a script I know he can do, then I’ll be there. So, if you want to see Tommy Shelby at 50, I’ll be there. Let’s do it.”

Steven Knight previously shared an update on the film, stating that shooting would commence in mid-2024.
