Nicolas Cage takes on a chilling new role in the recently announced horror film, “The Carpenter’s Son,” directed by Lofty Nathan.

With preparations underway for “The Carpenter’s Son,” a horror production delving into the childhood of Jesus, Nicolas Cage is gearing up for his next cinematic endeavor.

Nicolas Cage has graced screens with his presence across a myriad of themes, yet his upcoming venture promises to be an extraordinary journey even for him. The Academy Award-winning actor is set to collaborate with Lofty Nathan, known for the 2022 hit “Harka,” to present a unique interpretation of Jesus’ childhood in the new horror flick, “The Carpenter’s Son.”

Inspired by the narrative found in the Gospel of Thomas, “The Carpenter’s Son” centers around a nuclear family living in ancient Rome during that era. The film follows the father, portrayed by Nicolas Cage, and his companion, FKA twigs (from “Honey Boy”), as they discover supernatural occurrences surrounding their son, to be played by Noah Jupe, known for his role in “A Quiet Place.” Additionally, Souheila Yacoub, gaining attention for her involvement in “Dune 2,” joins the cast in a yet undisclosed role.

While the direct connection between the family in the film and the biblical figures of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph remains unspecified, “The Carpenter’s Son” promises an intriguing exploration.

Adding another horror film to his repertoire, Nicolas Cage continues to revitalize his filmography with “The Carpenter’s Son.” Following a period of lower-budget and critically underwhelming films, Cage has recently garnered praise for his performances in projects like “Pig,” “Dream Scenario,” and “Color Out of Space,” solidifying his place in Hollywood.

Nicolas Cage is also set to take the lead in the upcoming mystery-thriller “Longlegs,” expected to hit screens soon.

Filming for “The Carpenter’s Son” is slated to commence in the summer of 2024, yet the release date remains uncertain.
