The much-anticipated film “Megalopolis” has finally teased its audience with its first clip. Francis Ford Coppola’s dystopian vision, a project he has been passionately nurturing for years, is set to grace screens before the end of 2024.

Making its debut at the Cannes Film Festival, Coppola’s long-awaited passion project promises to captivate audiences. The recently shared clip offers a brief glimpse, featuring Adam Driver in a pivotal scene.

Renowned for cinematic masterpieces like “The Godfather” trilogy, “Apocalypse Now,” and “Bram Stoker’s Dracula,” Francis Ford Coppola returns to the director’s chair with a project years in the making.

After years of envisioning and describing it as his “dream project,” Coppola wrapped filming for “Megalopolis” in March 2023. Despite facing financial hurdles during production and struggles in securing distribution, the film is expected to hit screens by the end of 2024.

Aftermath of a Catastrophic Disaster in “Megalopolis”

“Megalopolis” narrates the peculiar tale of an architect striving to rebuild a post-apocalyptic New York City after a catastrophic disaster.

Coppola embarked on writing the screenplay for this star-studded production back in 1980. At 84, the master director took it upon himself to finance the film to bring his vision to life. With the release of the first video following the recent publication of initial photographs, anticipation is brewing among viewers.

In the initial glimpses of the film, Adam Driver, portraying Caesar, is depicted experiencing tense moments atop a skyscraper during the reconstruction of New York, described as “an American epic akin to a Roman saga.”
